A non-profit organisation is looking for a European Union (EU) Communication Officer with at least 1 year of experience in implementing projects funded by the European Union. Please note that this role requires experience in European project management with a focus on communication activities. Experience in proposal and reporting writing, particularly for communication and dissemination work packages, is a strong asset. Additionally, experience working with other types of international, national, and regional funding schemes is also valuable.

The EU Communication Officer will support the implementation and management of internal and external communication actions for Fundación Equipo Humano and its European projects. One of the main responsibilities will be to implement communication actions under EU projects, ensuring compliance and relevance according to EU guidelines. The EU Communication Officer will also contribute to national and regional communication strategies. He/she will not only help design EU-funded communication campaigns but also oversee the dissemination of activities and projects carried out by Fundación Equipo Humano at all levels and liaise with other national and regional stakeholders. The EU Communication Officer will play a broader role and have an impact at the core of the management team.

Experience in similar roles or positions in projects or initiatives related to training, human resources, employability, or the education sector will be highly valuable.

The EU Communication Officer will work under the direct supervision of the Head of the EU Projects Department and in close collaboration with each Project Coordinator and Project Manager.

Job Description and tasks

The EU Communications Officer’s tasks will include, inter alia:

  • Contributing to the development, implementation, evaluation, and monitoring of communication activities within the framework of EU projects.
  • Supporting the development and drafting of blog posts, articles, newsletters, communication materials, and content for social media channels related to EU projects and the company’s national and regional initiatives.
  • Assisting in the drafting of EU proposals, mainly in work packages (WPs) related to communication, dissemination, and sustainability.
  • Contributing to the development, implementation, and evaluation of the communication strategy, defining and maintaining FEH’s corporate identity across all communication channels, and reporting feedback and suggested improvements when required. Supporting the further development and updating of FEH’s digital media channels (e.g., website, social media, blogs).
  • Supporting the preparation and delivery of FEH information and awareness-raising campaigns, including the organisation of local and international events and workshops in line with EU-funded project guidelines; drafting and implementing communication plans for EU-funded initiatives; and preparing dissemination materials (leaflets, presentations, guides) and newsletters.
  • Contributing to the monitoring of FEH’s digital presence using online tools such as Google Analytics or like report on and improve digital and communication metrics.
  • Supporting the coordination and reporting of communication activities with partners and stakeholders across Spain and the EU.
  • Assisting in customer relations with participants in EU-funded or national/regional initiatives through various online platforms (email, social networks, online feedback forums, complaint channels, etc.).
  • Supporting the production of videos, banners, visual identity guidelines, and the development of e-learning materials in EU-funded projects covering topics such as training, mental health, employment, sustainability, business management, and entrepreneurship.
  • Assisting the EU-funded projects team in developing narratives for new projects, programmes, and initiatives that can be disseminated and replicated throughout the EU.
  • Performing any other related tasks requested by line management in the interest of the company.

Requirements

Technical experience:

  • At least 1 year of experience in a position with duties and responsibilities like those described in the job description section. (Mandatory)
  • A degree in journalism, audiovisual communication, public relations, marketing, digital marketing, or a similar field, and/or in relevant policy areas related to the company’s projects (training, employment, business management, EU affairs, integration). (Mandatory)
  • Experience in managing social media accounts (X, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn), building engagement, analyzing data, reporting metrics, and monitoring digital strategies.
  • Experience with, and ability to learn, digital analysis tools (e.g., Ads, Analytics, Metricool, Hubspot, or similar).
  • Experience in digital communication, marketing campaigns, corporate communication, marketing trends, campaign design, and collaboration with advertising and creative agencies.
  • Knowledge of mass emailing tools such as Mailchimp and a willingness to learn other tools (e.g., HTML, CSS, or similar platforms).
  • Knowledge and skills in strategic brand development.
  • Knowledge of, and ability to learn, WordPress and website management (including plugins, theme management, core updates, and user/role management).
  • Knowledge of, and ability to learn, digital communication tools such as Adobe CC, Drupal, and Canva.
  • Knowledge of European regulations on information and publicity for operations under European funds and programmes, as well as the European Commission’s priorities. (Desirable)

Languages:

  • High level of English, C1 or equivalent with excellent oral, writing, and narrative skills. (Mandatory)
  • High level of Spanish, C1 or equivalent with excellent oral, writing, and narrative skills. (Mandatory)
  • Knowledge of other languages, such as French, Italian, German… (Desirable).

  • Hybrid working model combining office presence and remote work.
  • Working hours: Monday to Thursday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, and Fridays from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. During July and August, working hours are from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm on all weekdays. Flexible entry and exit hours are included.
  • Holidays: 23 working days per year, to be taken in line with company policies.
  • Subsistence costs covered during travel.
