Friday 1st of July 2016 was the first day of the U-MOB project, a 5 years LIFE Programme initiative with the main goal of creating a network of universities for sustainable mobility that will set in motion action plans for reducing CO2 emissions in campus commuting.<\/p>\n
Fundaci\u00f3n Equipo Humano will be a full part-taker in the U-MOB project, together with Novotec Consulting and four leading European universities: Autonomous University of Barcelona, University of Bergamo, Polytechnic University of Krakow and Rotterdam Erasmus University.<\/p>\n

The U-MOB Project, European Network for Sustainable Mobility at University, started on July the 1st 2016, and will extend for 5 years until 2021. The total budget amounts for 1.329.427\u20ac and is co-financed by the European LIFE Programme.<\/p>\n
The LIFE Programme is the EU financial instrument for environment preservation. <\/p>\n
The main objective of the project is fostering sustainable mobility through less polluting means of transport in European university campuses.<\/p>\n
Thousands of universities and campuses in Europe generate millions of commuting movements every day, many of which are linked to polluting means of transport, negatively affecting CO2 emissions.<\/p>\n
This core goal will be achieved through: <\/p>\n
\u2022 <\/span>Creation of a European Network of Universities for Sustainable Mobility, that will gather and replicate sustainable mobility best practices beyond the project.<\/p>\n \u2022 <\/span>Development and Implementation of policies and action plans for sustainable mobility in European campuses adhered to the Network.<\/p>\n \u2022 <\/span>Launch of an awareness raising campaign to students and other members of the university community in Network campuses, about the impact of mobility on CO2 emissions and the key role of sustainable mobility.<\/p>\n \u2022 <\/span>Development and dissemination of an online training course for a new professional figure in campuses: Sustainable Mobility Manager <\/p>\n Last but not least, three International Conference on Sustainable Mobility will be held along the 5 years of the project in partner cities: Barcelona (2017), Krakow (2019) and Bergamo (2021).<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Friday 1st<\/sup> of July 2016 was the first day of the U-MOB project, a 5 years LIFE Programme initiative with the main goal of creating a network of universities for sustainable mobility that will set in motion action plans for reducing CO2 emissions in campus commuting.
